As Art Advocates, Sabertooth is committed to raising awareness around the importance of supporting creative placemaking, public art and local artists in our community.

We’re in the business of collaborating, sharing opportunities, fostering connections and bringing creative ideas to life!

who we’re advocating for

Beginning in 2024, Sabertooth Public Art is excited to extend our advocacy program by collaborating with Monochrome Canvas to act as their Art Advocate. In this role, we will work with Monochrome Canvas to connect and engage them with new networking opportunities, collaborations and partnerships for their creative business!

We are so honored and excited to introduce you to Joëlle Zellman, Owner and Creative Director of Monochrome Canvas.

Joëlle is the multi-talented artist and visionary founder of Monochrome Canvas, a local Akron print shop specializing in giclée printmaking and creative solutions. Joëlle's artistic journey began in Akron's vibrant creative community, studying at both the Miller South and Firestone High School VPA programs. Furthering her education, she pursued her studies in art at The Columbus College of Art and Design and in Florence, Italy.

Joëlle's path led her from a corporate role as a Creative Coordinator and Color Matcher to freelancing, ultimately culminating in the establishment of Monochrome Canvas. The print shop has become a manifestation of Joëlle's commitment to the local creative community by offering discounted services to artists and emphasizing quality control to ensure pristine representation of artist works.

As an artist-first entrepreneur, Joëlle's dedication shines through in the collaborative spirit of Monochrome Canvas. Proudly represented by Sabertooth Public Art through our Art Advocacy program, Joëlle continues to make impactful contributions to Akron's creative landscape through her art and design endeavors.
